Kick-off installation project Haarlem
Water retaining korfball fields at Haarlem
The installation of the HKC and Rapid fields in Haarlem are in full swing. They will create a safe and climate-proof sports complex for athletes, visitors, local residents and the environment. The environment experienced a lot of inconvenience from heat stress and at the same time they wanted to increase biodiversity in the area.
On the recommendation of HB Adviesbureau, the municipality of Haarlem has chosen to create cooling sports fields through the use of Permavoid and BlueLay. By collecting rainwater and storing it under the fields when it falls and making this rainwater available naturally for evaporation when the fields warm up, this ensures cooling sports fields at the sports facility. And due to the blue-green system, they will also boost biodiversity around the sports complex.
Project details:
- Completely covered and filled, approximately 640.000 liters of water can be stored.
